Project Summary

The current serial interface solution, Digi Devices, has reached end-of-life and must be replaced. The new standard, DeviceMaster, enables secure, reliable connections between hotel systems—such as key card readers, payment terminals, and other vendor technologies—and current or future Property Management Systems (PMSs). This upgrade ensures that all critical on-property systems can continue to communicate effectively with the PMS.

Properties Responsibilities

Property Champion Roles & Responsibilities

  • Complete Pre-Migration IT Checklist

    • Confirm rack space and power

    • Review IP address availability (if managed)

    • Create support contact list for interface vendors

    • Label existing Digi devices with connected interface names

  • Complete Interface Verification Form

    • Review verification sheet (sent via Smartsheet)

    • Confirm which interfaces should move to DeviceMaster

  • Attend pre-installation preparation calls with installation vendor

  • Be onsite on migration day (at least one champion required)

  • Assist installation technician as needed

  • Support post-migration testing
    (e.g., make a reservation, test phone calls)

  • Communicate migration details to property staff

    • Share date, expected downtime, and vendor presence on-site
