Workday SFTP Instructions




Open WinSCP

  1. Double click the WinSCP icon that is on your desktop.
  2. Click Tools > then click Run PuTTYgen.


Generate Key

  1. Click the Key dropdown menu and make sure SSH-2-RSA is selected.
  2. Enter 4096 in the number of bits field at the bottom right.
  3. Click Generate.
  4. Move the mouse around as instructed.




Save public key

  1. Delete the text in the Key Comment field and type in your email address.
  2. Click Save public key.
  3. Browse to your G: drive > My Drive, then save the file as firstname.lastname.pub in your Google Drive.




Save private key

  1. Create a password that is longer than 6 characters and type in the Key passphrase field, then type the same password again in the Confirm field.
  2. Click Save private key.
  3. Browse to your G: drive again and save this file as firstname.lastname.ppk in your Google Drive.




Send your public key to Workday

In your Gmail, compose a new email and attach the .pub file you saved to your Google Drive and email it to austin.mateo@workday.com and oisin.ahern@workday.com.

Workday will respond with instructions on how to connect to their SFTP.
